The facts were never hidden. They were just never assembled. SearchStrata is a building intelligence company in British Columbia: we keep one record per strata corporation — what it is, where it stands, and what it has decided — and we show the source behind every fact in it. The first of those three is free, because those facts were already public.
Who builds it
Every building in British Columbia is already described. The assessment roll knows the year it went up, land title knows the plan number, the municipality knows what is approved on the next block, and the province knows whether it sits in a mapped floodplain. None of those offices are hiding anything. None of them share a key — assessment knows the folio, the management company knows the building by a name that appears in neither.
Then there is the half only one body holds: what this strata corporation has actually decided. The levy voted on two Novembers ago, the roof the engineer gave four years. That half arrives as eight hundred pages with a deadline attached.
So the biggest purchase of someone's life gets made on a skim — not because the facts are secret, but because they are scattered across public bodies, private packages and nobody's desk. We joined them, for every strata corporation in the province, and we keep joining them as the records change.
That is the whole company. Not a verdict on whether to buy, and not a score standing in for one: a record, with the provenance attached, so a buyer, an owner, a council or a contractor can check it rather than take our word for it. Where we do not hold something, we say so — our field-by-field coverage is published, with the sample and the date it was measured.
